Bibimbap is an iconic Korean dish whose name literally means « mixed rice ». It is a bowl of hot rice topped with a variety of sautéed or marinated vegetables (carrots, spinach, fernbrake, courgette and so on), sliced meat (often beef) and an egg, usually fried, sitting right in the middle. It all comes together with a spicy sauce based on gochujang (fermented red chilli paste) to lift the flavours.
Cut the meat into thin slices and leave it in the marinade until you are ready to cook it
